Part 11, 1st Aid –Part 15, Managing Control of Hazardous Energy –Part 16, Noise Exposure –Part 18, PPE

Part 11, 1st Aid: harmonized standards to align with all Canadian jurisdictions. Streamlined wording. Clarify requirements for worksite parties, training agencies, service providers and workplace 1st aiders.

Part 15, Haz NRG: clarify responsibilities and requirements for worksite parties. Streamlined wording. New definitions. Group control procedures.

Part 16, Noise Exposure: includes reduced action limit – going from 85dBA down to 82dBA. Fit testing requirements for hearing protection devices. Streamlined audio testing requirements and wording.

Part 18, PPE: update standards to align/harmonize with jurisdictions across Canada. Inspection criteria.

*Miscellaneous Changes… will require a review vs. company safety program for ‘possible’ updates.

Parts 1, 3, 5, 6, 9, 23 and 25 all have minor changes, specific criteria or amendments to current criteria.

All of these key areas of the OHS Code will need to be checked based on your company’s operations.
