The Government of Canada has announced temporary tariff relief to help Canadian businesses — including food and beverage processors — manage rising costs linked to ongoing U.S. trade measures.
The update includes a two-month extension on tariff exemptions for U.S. goods used in food and beverage processing, packaging, and agricultural production, providing short-term cost stability for affected companies. Additional relief is available for businesses facing short supply issues or existing contractual obligations.
Members are encouraged to contact their customs broker first to review eligibility under the new exemptions. AFPA is available to assist members with general guidance and updates as details unfold.
