As you know, we're in difficult financial times here in Alberta. We need fresh ideas to stimulate the economy. As such, AFPA is navigating a new path forward to support the increased economic contributions of Alberta's food and beverage processing industry to help further diversity the Alberta economy.
While we remain focused on training and education efforts that support the industry in both Workplace Health and Safety and Food Safety, it has become abundantly clear that we must actively advocate our industry needs to government. Going forward, this will require a focused effort on research, data analysis, advocacy and communications efforts.
The AFPA board has laid-out a bold goal to become a $20.9B industry by the year 2025. As the Alberta government doesn't currently have a lens on the growth potential of our sector, this means AFPA's advocacy efforts have never been more important than the present.
