AFPA Launches CareersNOW! to Support Alberta’s Food & Beverage Workforce

The Alberta Food Processors Association (AFPA), in partnership with Food & Beverage Ontario, has launched CareersNOW! in Alberta, a new resource designed to showcase career opportunities in Alberta’s food and beverage processing industry and support the sector’s workforce development efforts.

The resource provides students, job seekers, educators, newcomers and career changers with information about the wide range of careers available across the industry, from production, food safety and quality to logistics, research, business and leadership.

For employers, CareersNOW! provides a resource they can share with prospective employees and existing staff to help demonstrate the variety of career paths available within food and beverage processing.  Many employees begin in production roles and progress into supervisory, management or specialized technical positions.

CareersNOW! also provides access to free, self-paced online training through the AFPA on Demand platform, covering areas such as food safety, workplace safety, quality systems, equipment and leadership.  These courses can help individuals build industry-specific knowledge and support employers’ ongoing employee development efforts.

AFPA is encouraging processors, educators, workforce organizations and community partners to share CareersNOW! with employees, students, job seekers and anyone interested in learning more about the industry.

CareersNOW! will be hosting the Alberta Launch livestream on August 26th, featuring educators and industry professionals discussing careers in Alberta’s evolving food and beverage sector.  More livestreams are scheduled in the coming months so follow AFPA on social media and check the CareersNOW! page for details.
