A Great Workplace has retention power.
A Great Workplace is also one in which employees are safe and healthy – physically, emotionally and mentally, are energized, feel supported and satisfied, and, are producing excellent business results.
How do you build a Great Workplace?
Leaders need access to the knowledge and skill to ensure their employees Know What to do, are Able to do it, are Equipped to do it, Want to do it and are supported by Interactions characterized by trust, respect, integrity, collaboration and accountability. The ongoing maintenance and improvement of these five “conditions for performance” is what builds a great workplace.
AFPA has entered into an agreement with Performance by Design Inc to build online tools to help member organizations build Great Workplaces. The tool is intended to be a key part of a member organization’s strategy to achieve excellence in performance and build and sustain a workplace that retains good employees. As a “virtual coach” the tool provides reliable information to help managers and supervisors manage and improve the performance of individuals and the teams. At the company level it will have capability to assess operational performance concerns, health and safety in the workplace as well as leadership and performance management practices. Start-up funding is provided by Alberta Agriculture.
